Melba Louise Malone

Funeral services for Melba Louise Malone, 83, of Lubbock will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ken Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2008.

Melba Louise Maynard was born August 4, 1925, in Cooper to Vessie Hays and Beulah Toone Maynard. She married Grady Malone on June 13, 1949. He passed away May 12, 2002. She was in the Foster Grandparent Program with the Lubbock State School and was a volunteer at Ballinger School.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosa Lee Malone of Lubbock; a son, Bill Malone and wife Carol of Lubbock; two sisters, Anna Casey of California; Mamie Walls of Washington; three grandchildren, Hays Culbertson, Candice Boyd, and Jessica Malone; and one great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Mickey and Larry Malone.
